Informal Supports
Ohio Network for Innovation's Informal Supports are based on the concept that “not one size fits all.” Instead, we focus on a person-centered philosophy and supported decision-making.
Supported Decision-Making is a framework to support people to be able to make their own decisions about their life, education, employment, health care and legal areas. This approach builds on providing information, skills and guidance to make decisions in the areas where support is needed, just as anyone of us would seek out our friends, families and supporters when we need advice.
Forming an informal support will include the creation of various approaches, along with levels of increased support when necessary.
